Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-04-24

LegWatch helps people follow what happens in the New Hampshire Legislature. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • Account information — your name and email address when you sign up or sign in.
  • Subscription state — your plan and billing status, managed through Stripe. We never see or store your card numbers.
  • Activity — the searches you run, the bills and hearings you follow, and basic usage events so the product works and improves.
  • Public legislative data — bills, hearings, votes, and video transcripts sourced from public New Hampshire government records. This is not personal data about you.
  • Campaign attribution — if you reach us from a postcard or other campaign, we record which campaign brought you in so we can measure what works.
  • Cookies — a session cookie to keep you signed in, and a 30-day attribution cookie to connect your visit to a campaign. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

How we use it

We use this information to operate the service, keep you signed in, provide the features you ask for, process subscriptions, send product-related email, measure which outreach is effective, and improve LegWatch over time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers we rely on to run LegWatch:

  • Vercel — application hosting.
  • MongoDB Atlas — our database.
  • Stripe — payment and subscription processing.
  • Resend — transactional and sign-in email.
  • Anthropic (via the Vercel AI Gateway) — AI summaries and answers.
  • Voyage AI — text embeddings that power search.
  • YouTube — source of legislative hearing video and transcripts.

Retention

When you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to keep certain records (for example, billing records) to comply with the law. Public legislative data is retained as part of the service.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Email privacy@legwatch.app and we will respond.

Direct mail and opt-out

We sometimes send postcards to people who may be interested in LegWatch. Every postcard includes a link you can use to opt out of future mail. We suppress anyone who opts out so they are skipped by future campaigns. You can also email privacy@legwatch.app to be removed.

Email newsletter

If you subscribe to Concord Weekly, we store your email address, consent and confirmation dates, signup source, delivery status, and aggregate engagement events. Every edition includes an unsubscribe link; bounced and complaining addresses are suppressed.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page.
